Option nationale leader Jean-Martin Aussant filed for an injunction in Quebec Superior Court today, requesting the court to make up a new law that would force broadcasters to let him into this Saturday's leaders debate.
"It is clear in Quebec law that judges can make up any law in order to allow anything they want to happen," the injunction application stated. "While we cannot point to any specific law that says that Option nationale should be given equal time in the Leaders Debate, it should be obvious to the Court that there ought to be some sort of law that should let us participate. The applicant therefore urges the Court to make one up."
Lawyers for Option nationale declined to comment on the case, out of embarrassment.
