Charest denies interfering with police investigation of supporter in FTQ: "We have no supporters in FTQ"

Premier Jean Charest denied having met any of his supporters in the FTQ Construction Union while he was under investigation by police, because "We have no supporters in the FTQ."

"The last time an FTQ member voted Liberal was in 1972," said Charest.

However, Charest did acknolwedge meeting with an FTQ construction worker in March 2009: "He threw eggs at me, and said 'Charest, salaud, le peuple aura ta peau.'" Charest told reporters that it was the most useful dialogue that he had with the FTQ during his nine years as Premier.
