MONTRÉAL -- Premier Pauline Marois announced today that if the Parti Québécois is returned to power, The Charter of the French Language, known as Bill 101, would be extended to English muffins.
"It is unacceptable that in today's Québec, that certain grocery stores are simply selling English muffins, in an affront to the rights of all Québécois to eat in the official language," said Marois.
The PQ would restrict the use of English muffins to afternoon teas, golf and country clubs, and Victoria Day.
