Excuded from Debate, Aussant realizes starting own party a big waste of time

Option nationale leader Jean-Martin Aussant belatedly realized yesterday that starting his own fast-track pro-independence party was a huge waste of time after finding out that networks could exclude him from the leaders' debate because they felt like it.

Under the mistaken impression that he had to be invited to the televised leaders' debate because he had a seat in the National Assembly, Aussant realized to his embarrassment that the elections law requirements for equal time given to party leaders does not apply to the debate.  Moments later, he realized that he had wasted the last year of his life creating a political party out of nothing, as his party will now be completely ignored throughout the campaign.

"Yes, I felt pretty stupid," Aussant admitted.  "I guess I didn't really look into it properly before throwing away my political career.  At least now, I'll be able to watch the campaign from the comfort of my own living room.  Maybe I'll follow up on some interesting business proposals I have gotten from some Nigerian princes recently."
