After polls came out showing the Parti vert du Quebec at less than 3% support, Quebec Green Party supporters were added this week to the list of Species at Risk by officials at Environment Canada.
"The numbers of Green Party supporters has been dwindling quickly," said a Department spokesman. "Their habitat was never very large -- mainly confined to Second Cups on the western slopes of Mount Royal. But even that is now threatened by invasive species like Francois Legault."
Department officials are concerned that the remaining population of Green Party supporters will be unable to replace their numbers. "Green Party supporters are a bit like pandas; even at the best of times they have difficulty finding mates in order to reproduce. Our hope is that we can introduce party leader Claude Sabourin to Elizabeth May so that the species can have at least one breeding pair."
