Vacationing pollsters CROP and Leger Marketing explained their lack of published polls for the last ten days by saying, "the only poll that counts is the one on September 4."
Polling firm founder Jean-Marc Leger said that his firm was not about to cancel their vacations just because an election was called. "We released one polls at the beginning of the campaign, I think we just used the results from the last poll we did in May, deducting a few points for Charest for interrupting our vacation," he said.
"August is for holidays. No one wants to respond to a poll in August. Let's face it, the only poll that counts is on election day, and that's in two weeks. Can't you just be a bit patient?" said CROP president Alain Giguere.
