Three CAQ candidates traded to Liberals for Draft Picks

Just days before an election call, Coalition Avenir Québec and the Québec Liberal Party announced a three-candidate trade. Linda Lapointe, Pascal Beaupré and Jean-François Gosselin, former ADQ MNAs, were traded from the CAQ to the Liberals for future considerations.

Lapointe, Beaupré and Gosselin had played for Equipe Mario Dumont during the 2007-2008 season, but had since been languishing in the CAQ's farm team in Peoria. Legault had already informed them that they would not be called up for the 2012 campaign.

Although the Liberals have plenty of offence, the PLQ need help in other areas, especially having enough warm bodies to make up a team. Sources also indicate that the Liberals needed extra candidates in order to make the campaign's cap floor.
