The 500 candidates of Quebec's four largest political parties realized today that no one gives a rat's ass about them in the runup to the leader's debate tomorrow night.
"I thought I was an important and part of the campaign, but now that the leadership debate is coming up, I can't get the Sherbrooke Record to return my calls," said a disheartened Coalition avenir Quebec candidate Jacques Duscheneau.
"In the first two weeks of the campaign, reporters were asking me for my thoughts about the last season of Mad Men," said PQ candidate Jean-Francois Lisee. "But now that the debate is almost here, I could start ranting from the top of Place Ville Marie with a kaleshnikov and I wouldn't make page 30 of the L'Echo d'Abitibi".
"The stock market used to react to my pronouncements," said Liberal finance minister Raymond Bachand. "But once the debate happens, I can't even attract a waiter's attention at Frites Alors."
Super Quebec Vote Plus will be covering the Debate live.
