Urging Quebecers to vote strategically to avoid another referendum, Liberal leader Jean Charest logically extended his "wasted vote" theory to his own
party, saying that a vote for the Liberals is a vote for the PQ.
"Pretty much whomever you vote for is a vote for the PQ and another
referendum," Charest said. "Quebecers should thin about that before they
vote."
Pauline Marois denied that a vote for any vote is really a vote for the PQ. "Only a vote for the Parti Quebecois, CAQ or the Green Party is a vote for
the Parti Quebecois. A vote for the Liberals, the Marxist-Leninists or the Bloc Pot is a vote for the same old, tired policies of Charest."
Both Charest and Marois agreed that a vote for Option nationale is a vote for
Quebec Solidaire.
