Liberal Party Leader Jean Charest refused today that an election had been called for September 4, reverting to the position on election timing that he originally took before he called the election ten days ago.
"We'll just have to see when an election comes, if it does" Charest said. "It's the opposition parties that are calling for an election in September, not me," he said at a campaign stop in Trois-Rivieres.
Analysts speculate that the Liberals are pinning their hopes for re-election on voters forgetting that there is an election.
Charest's campaign schedule for the rest of the weekend include a barbecue this evening and watching the Olympics on TV for most of tomorrow.
