Coalition avenir Quebec leader Francois Legault fought back in an ongoing viscious war of food metaphors in the Quebec election campaign today, saying that Quebec Premier Jean Charest "smelled hot soup", as a metaphor to say that he sensed defeat.
Charest yesterday called Francois Legault a "peanut vendor" after Francois Legault called Charest's deficit-cutting plan "peanuts".
"Francois Legault was on the board of directors of Provigo, so he may have the upper hand for food metaphors," said analyst Michel C. Auger.
Pauline Marois refused to use a food metaphor herself while campaigning in Verdun, saying that she had her fill of caribou at last Wednesday's debate.
