Marois ponders fall election

SAINTE-ANNE-DES-PLAINES -- Québec Premier Pauline Marois refused to quell speculation that she favours calling an election for the fall of 2014.

It has been widely rumoured that the Parti Québécois government would dissolve Parliament and have an election on April 7.  However, recent polls suggesting the PQ would lose an election on that date have prompted her to reconsider.

"I'm not going to speculate on when an election will be held," said Marois.  "Yes, we are putting signs up, nominating candidates and preparing for a vote, but when the vote will actually be held, that is not something I am prepared to discuss at this point."
