PLATEAU MONT-ROYAL -- Québec solidaire sort-of spokesman Amir Khadir criticized the Government for not doing enough to free Nelson Mandela from his imprisonment in South Africa and urged more support for the international campaign free him.
"If we are ever going to achieve national liberation, we need to support other liberation movements around the world such as the African National Congress and the Palestine Liberation Organization," said Khadir. "As long as Mandela is in prison, none of us are free."
When told that Mandela had been freed from prison in 1990 and died last year, Khadir replied that "you should never believe the mainstream media. The media said I was too much of a flake to be an effective MNA, but here I am."
